Our community regeneration initiative

Hilary Thompson pledged to a little boy in a brass factory in India that she would devote the rest of her life to doing whatever she could to support children to have a better future. We lost Hilary in 2019. Today, her family and Pond Foundation have created Hilary’s Kids to honour this pledge.

Forest Love

So many forests are under threat – from logging, fire, mining, agricultural clearance, pests, and disease and most insidiously, from climate change. If we lose them, we lose life itself. Our goal is to support the protection of as many hectares of forest as we possibly can.

Anyim Wa Community Initiative - A New Hilary's Kids Partner

We're glad to share the work of a new collaborator at Pond Foundation - the Anyim Wa project organized by Denis Opio! The Anyim Wa Community Initiative (AWCI) is dedicated to transforming the lives of women and youth in Northern Uganda by addressing poverty, inequality, and environmental challenges through innovative programs rooted in empowerment, mentorship, and sustainability. Their main activities include: 1. Livelihood and Enterprise Development: AWCI trains women and youth in hands-on income-generating skills such as tailoring, soap-making, and regenerative agriculture, while also equipping them with entrepreneurial knowledge to start and grow sustainable businesses. 2. Transformative Leadership and Mentorship: AWCI fosters leadership skills, critical thinking, and personal growth through coaching and mentorship programs, empowering participants to become confident change-makers in their communities. 3. Climate Coaching and Advocacy: AWCI integrates climate resilience training into its programs, inspiring women and youth to lead local environmental conservation efforts and promote sustainable solutions at the grassroots level. Anyim Wa will be joining us as a Hilary's Kids partner in an effort to more effectively raise funds for the project moving forward! Please reach out to us or to Denis should this resonate with you.

Pond Foundation GHG Report ISO14064-1 Verified!

The Pond Foundation's My Carbon Zero initiative calculates carbon emissions for members using GHG Protocol and ISO14064-1 standards. They've completed fourteen projects, including Guardian Capital Group in Canada. Guardian sought ISO certification, which was achieved in February 2024 after a process involving initial calculation, pre-verification audit, closing data gaps, and a full audit.
